Description
Journey to the cross with Scripture, prayer and the wisdom of J. C. Ryle.
It’s all too easy to rush through the familiar crucifixion narratives without letting their significance sink in – especially when life is busy and our attention is pulled in many different directions.
These carefully chosen excerpts from J. C. Ryle’s Expository Thoughts on the Gospels are paired with a short scripture reading and prayer to help us to read thoughtfully and unhurriedly, driving the truth of the cross home to our hearts and drawing us nearer to the one who gave himself for us.
Use these devotions to dwell more deeply on Christ's great act of sacrifice during Lent or any other time of the year.
This book contains forty devotions as well as extra readings for the Sundays during Lent. It can be used as a Lenten devotion or at other times of the year as a forty-six-day devotional.
