Description
Why Extraordinary Gifts Are Past and Scripture Alone Guides Us Today
In Cessationism and the Sufficiency of Scripture, Joshua Chipchase tackles one of the most important and often misunderstood debates in modern Christianity. With clarity and conviction, this book argues that God’s final and complete revelation has already been given – and it is found in Scripture alone.
Far from being a dry theological discussion, this work shows how your view of spiritual gifts shapes everything from how you interpret the Bible to how you make life decisions. By carefully examining biblical evidence, Chipchase challenges the idea that miraculous gifts continue today and presents a compelling case for their unique, foundational role in the early church.
What you’ll gain from this book:
- A straightforward, biblical definition of spiritual gifts
- Clear arguments for why apostleship, prophecy, and tongues have ceased
- Insight into modern charismatic practices compared with Scripture
- A deeper confidence in the authority and sufficiency of the Bible
- Practical implications for church life, decision-making, and spiritual growth
Thoughtful, accessible, and rooted in Scripture, this book will help you stand firmly on God’s Word, trusting that the Bible is not lacking, but completely sufficient for life and godliness.
