Description
Presents an overview of Edmund Hooper , a significant yet overlooked 17th-century composer, organist and master of the choristers of Westminster Abbey.
The programme features Hooper’s three diverse Services, alongside his popular anthem Behold, it is Christ. By including music from contemporaries like Orlando Gibbons and Martin Peerson, the recording illustrates the expressive power and structural innovation of English church music during the early 1600s.
