Description
See the Son of God at work among doubters, crowds, children, and disciples—bringing forgiveness, abundant grace, and lasting hope.
In Matthew 11:2–20:34, Jesus reveals Himself through His words and works as the promised Messiah, the Lord of the Sabbath, the compassionate Shepherd, and the Son of God who came to serve. As He teaches, heals, feeds the crowds, and journeys toward Jerusalem, He calls His followers to lives marked by faith, humility, forgiveness, and trust in God’s mercy.
Through eight guided sessions, this Bible study explores key events and teachings from Matthew’s Gospel, including John the Baptist’s questions, the parables of the kingdom, the feeding miracles, Peter’s confession, the Transfiguration, and Jesus’ instruction on discipleship. Readers will meet a Savior who welcomes the weary, seeks the lost, and prepares His people for the way of the cross.
Grounded in Jeffrey A. Gibbs’s Concordia Commentary on Matthew, this study presents the text in an accessible format for individuals, Bible classes, and small groups. Historical context, theological insights, discussion questions, practical application, prayers, suggested hymns, and leader guides equip readers to engage Scripture and hear Christ’s enduring invitation: “Come to Me.”
