Description
Prayer seems simple enough, but it is often difficult. We are a busy, distracted people, and even when we make time to pray, we may not know what to say. We may feel our words are inadequate to express our thoughts and feelings to God. One of the best ways to revitalize our prayers is to read and pray the words others have prayed before us.
With prayers for daily life, family, work, the life of the spirit, brokenness and contrition, and hope for the life more abundant that Jesus promised, this book draws on the works of Christian thinkers, writers, and preachers, such as
· John Bunyan
· William Guthrie
· Matthew Henry
· George Whitefield
· and many others
Topically arranged, each prayer is supported by Scripture passages and references, opening the door for the living and active Word of God to become part of our personal prayer lives.
