Isaiah 49 says that God, ‘made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.’ Jenny Sanders guides us through the sometimes painful process of what it takes to craft a traditional arrow – a metaphor for God preparing and shaping us to be fired effectively into our culture and contexts. Another Old Testament prophet claimed that God is ‘calling many arrows’ (Habakkuk 3:9). It’s time to be prepared and respond. There’s an urgency in God’s call.
