Description
Have you ever felt the nudge to pray for someone’s healing but hesitated, unsure of how or whether to proceed? In At the Foot of the Cross, Caris Grimes takes readers on an empowering journey of understanding, equipping, and emboldening them to pray for the healing and wholeness of others.
This deeply thoughtful and practical guide addresses the fears, doubts, and questions that hold many back from stepping into the ministry of healing prayer. Through candid discussions, theological exploration, and real-world insights, Caris tackles challenging questions: Why does God sometimes seem silent in the face of suffering? Can anyone pray for healing, or is it reserved for those with a specific spiritual gift? What if nothing happens?
Designed for individuals, small groups, church communities and Christian organisations.
At the Foot of the Cross is an invitation to embrace the courage to pray for others and to trust in a God who works through our prayers, even in the face of uncertainty. Whether you're new to this journey or looking to deepen your practice, this book will inspire and equip you to take that first step.
Caris is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon and is married to Ian Nott, an Anglican priest. Between them, they have four children.
“There is a rising sense of expectation among those with their spiritual antenna up that God is re-gifitng His people, particularly in the realm of healing in the name of Jesus. Caris Grimes book is further evidence that although the healing ministry can get locked up by policies, protocols and performance, it is to ordinary believers that gifts of healings is given and, in my experience, in whose hands it is the most effective. The fact that Caris writes with a doctor’s understanding as well as that of a ‘prayer minister’ is all the more compelling. This is a book that will challenge you , but not frighten you. It will encourage you but not leave you complacent, but above all it will lead you into new adventures of faith.”

"Healing and wholeness should be at the heart of our everyday Christian experience. In a world with so much brokenness and so many seeking healing in body, mind and spirit this is a timely book. Caris' book is a vital companion not only on the journey to healing and wholeness but a closer walk with Jesus"

"I surely commend this really helpful book written by Caris Grimes who has real insight into the healing ministry, who as a surgeon highlights that the Lord uses medics to bring healing but then acknowledges that the Lord Jesus also brings supernatural healing. The book is very well balanced, is biblically based and is excellent introduction to healing and wholeness constantly taking us back to scripture. This is a brilliant introduction to the healing ministry, and I would strongly recommend it to Ministers and Vicars to use in their churches to help congregations gain understanding of the healing ministry. It would be ideal for small group meetings to help understanding of Jesus priority for healing and his care and compassion for the broken hearted. I want to also commend all to read the quotes by Edgar Bell, the authors great grandfather, who brings profound insight into the book."
