The fear of God is our greatest tool against fear. But so often the lies we believe seem too big for us to overcome on our own. That’s where Nehemiah comes in. It’s easy to think of Nehemiah as a powerful figure and to aspire to his level of boldness. But what if the key to Nehemiah’s accomplishments wasn't based on his innate boldness or supernatural strength, but on his fear of the Lord? It was out of Nehemiah’s fear of God that he was able to battle the fears he would face as he stepped out in obedience. As we journey through Nehemiah’s story, we will learn to trade the lies we believe for the truth of God. In each session we will take a close look at the root of different fears Nehemiah faced. From his story, we will learn how he responded to those fears. Along the way, we will be challenged to journal each of our own fears as we seek to discover the truth of God that overcomes that fear. In this 6-session Bible study by Kate Downing, teen girls will walk chapter by chapter through the book of Nehemiah to discover the truth about God that overcomes fear.
